I will be showing my dolls and paintings at Art in Autumn on September 21 in Weaverville, NC and my dolls at the Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands Oct 17 - 20 in Asheville, NC. Hope to see you there if you are in the neighborhood!
I will be at two shows this month in Asheville. The Big Crafty on July 7th with my dolls and paintings and The Southern Highland Craft Guild show July 18-21 showing just dolls. If you are in town for any of those dates, stop by and say hi!
For those who can't make it, I'll be posting new work on Etsy after the July shows.
I will be a demonstrating artist at The Southern Highland Craft Guild's Folk Art Center off the Blue Ridge Parkway, in Asheville, NC this Friday-Sunday from 10-4. Doll making is a slow process, I hope it won't be boring! I thought of bringing fire jugglers and sword swallowers to add some spice to the demo. But after some consideration, maybe not. It is what it is. Below are a few of the dolls I will be bringing that are for sale.
A doll group in Asheville invited me to participate for an exhibit at the Asheville Children's Library. The challenge was to pick a children's book and make a doll figure of it. I chose Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach. Challenging it was, I about gave up when I got to all the insects. I meant to take pictures of the process, but then forgot to pick up the camera after the early stages until it was finished. At any rate, here are the pictures I took of my effort.
There will be an artist reception on thursday, March 7 from 5:30 - 7:00 at the Pack Memorial Library downstairs in the children's section.
