This little girlie is one of the dolls I'll be bringing with me to the Montford Street Festival in Asheville, NC on May 19th. I'll be showing dolls and paintings, so if you are in the area, come on down and say hi! There will be lots of artist and music, should be a fun time.
This is a picture of me and my daughter Claire, who was visiting me from California, having a little doll making workshop. I love it when they visit. Why is it that picking up your adult kids at the airport is so much better than dropping them off?! Makes me nostalgic for the old days, before they flew the coop. Oh well, time marches on and it waits for no one.
The dolls that Claire made in our little workshop. How cool are they? Pretty cool! Such attitude.

happy spring and rag dolls
These are some *artist signature edition* rag dolls I've been working on for the upcoming show season. I love to spend hours on end making one of a kind dolls, but when you are standing in your booth at a show in a rough economy, it's a good idea to have a mixed price range. I'll try these out at $45. My one of a kind dolls are usually $100. - $600. I can't wait to do a show so I can feed my hungry bank account! Happy Spring!
*Artist Signature Edition: When an original design prototype that is
made by the artist, is used to make a mold and similar dolls are
reproduced and made by the artist. (definition provided by Susanna Oroyan's wonderful book "Designing the Doll")

Some dolls in progress hanging around in their skivvies, patiently waiting to be made decent. Oh the humiliation.

winter in appalachia?
Could this be possible? I took these photos at my house on February 5th! Aside from the daffodils and hibiscus blossom, there were also a bunch of myrtle blossoms blooming. At least 6 weeks earlier than usual. I usually see these around the second week in March. That groundhog doesn't know diddly squat! Strange winter, although I will not complain.

moving in and taking a look around
Hello! I am in the process of moving out of my website and into this blog. Just feeling my way around and trying to get familiar with the site. Shown here is a doll that is available in my Etsy shop.
